When shopping for essentials you want to stock up on neutrals. If you find your favorite pair of jeans, shorts, slacks or whatever it may be that you can’t live without. This would be the perfect time generally to stock up in neutral colors. I would suggest gray’s, white, khaki, black, olive, or even jean material. However if you can only purchase just one of these colors at the time, that is okbecause with any of these colors you will be able to match so many outfits. You could seriously probably pick up any shirt in your closet and make it work with one of these bottom options. The same goes with tops, kimonos or sweaters. You can create so much when you stick with neutrals. I understand everyone likes a pop of color and not knocking it but also keep in mind you can do that with accessories and just occasionally purchase a top you can’t resist. I enjoy doing this with dresses as well. Get your basic black, gray, olive or even navy solid dress and change it up by wearing it by itself or with a kimono. You could throw a sweater over it or blue jean jacket. Don’t forget to be creative, with the right button down shirt you could even use it as top that you tie a knot in the front. The options go on and on and you can create so many outfits out of this what we call “Basic” dress. Think outside of the box the next time you are clothes shopping and remember to lean towards some neutrals. You won’t be disappointed the options are limitless.
